Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Perform a variety of tasks associated with the production and manufacture of various type of products. Position assists in the sewing of lounge wear, athletic wear, active wear, etc. performs repairs and reconstruction work on all products sold and complete general clean up and safety tasks.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years’ experience in general assembly work and operating on Industrial sewing machine.

Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and understand safety rules. Ability to read tape measure.

Ability to commit flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts

Ability to use industrial sewing machines (4 threads Serger, single needle, etc.)

JOB TASKS

-Press garments, using hand irons.

-Record required alterations and instructions on tags, and attach them to garments.

-Remove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor blades.

-Assemble garment parts and join parts with basting stitches, using needles and thread or

sewing machine.

-Fit and study garments on customers to determine required alterations.

-Maintain garment drape and proportions as alterations are performed.

-Repair or replace defective garment parts such as pockets, zippers, snaps, buttons, etc.
